Finding Time

I don't know what it is about time. Some day's it seems there is not enough time, and other days it seems like time is in super slow mo. Why is that? And of course it's always when you have something to look forward to (vacation, weekend, a fun event) that the time goes by really slowly. The opposite is true when there is something fun going on - time seems to fly by. As the saying goes - "time flies when you're having fun." Ancient cultures must have noticed this too. I wonder how they viewed it or if they had an explanation for it. We all know that the passing of time is a constant - it doesn't speed up or slow down.

Have you ever had one of those days that from the moment you wake up you are convinced it's Thursday until something routine in your day reminds you that it's really Wednesday!? Or better yet, you wake up on a Saturday morning freaking out because your alarm didn't go off and you are going to be late for work...then as soon as you are wide awake from panic, you realize that it's Saturday, not a work day. I've had it so bad that I actually get up and get in the shower before I realize my mistake. Good luck trying to go back to bed at that point. Along these same lines I find it completely obnoxious that during the work week I find myself hitting snooze about 4 times, and feeling so exhausted that I know I could sleep til noon with no problems. But, on the weekends, boom...I'm wide awake at the same time I normally wake up during the week.

Here is one thing I will say about time. Never take it for granted. Don't put off til tomorrow what you can do today. Plus, as difficult as it might be for some, don't save the nice bottle of wine for some day, have it now! Tomorrow may never come. As wise wizard once said - "All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us."
